Hello All!

This doesn't have much to do with card readers but the results are much the same I'd say.

My new laptop has both a PCMCIA card slot and an SD card slot. I decided to try the PCMCIA adapter with flash card to see how it would work in my new PC.

I saved an Email to a file in Outlook Express. I then saved the file to my documents. When I put the PCMCIA card adapter with flash card in the appropriate slot, the PC recognized it as new hardware and assigned it to drive E. I then sent the file to the flash card. I took card and adapter out of my PC and placed them in my M-power. I then copied the file over to the notetaker. It was so simple, it seemed sinful (grin smile)! I never thought it could be so easy! It wil be interesting to see what happens with attachments. I've been using Eudora for a long time so am still new to Outlook.

Once you get it working, I'm certain you will enjoy your card reader very much!

Jim Aldrich

I assume you're running xp. The new hardware wizard should show up when you plug the thing in and either use the generic drivers or those from the cd if
you installed the software that came with the reader.

I have the sandisk image-mate 12-in-1 reader and all I had to do was plug it in and windows found it immediately and used the windows drivers. I didn't
have to install the software that came with it.

Not certain if all readers work in the same way though.

Hi Dan,

I assume you plugged the card reader into a usb port. Try
rebooting your machine or maybe even turn it off completely and
then restart literally from scratch.
Leave the drive plugged into the usb port when you do this.

I've had a similar thing happen a few times and rebooting seemed
to get the pc to see the reader. You should be able to go into
my computer and see it as
a new drive letter.
