Well, you are over simplifying, but not by all that much.
One would have to have a bar code scanner that had drivers that would
function under Windows CE.
Then, you have to design software that can read the results of a scan,
and allow one to add new items to the UPC database.
Support of this kind should not be built in to the unit, but it should
be optional. In other words, there are many Braillenote users that
might not find a bar code scanner necessary, but for those who do, it
should be an option they can purchase.

Somewhat along the line of scanners, a bar code reader would be nice.
All
you'd need is a bar code scanner and a storage card with a database of
products and a user enterface. Maybe I'm over simplifying it, but would
it
really take a lot to add bar code reader functionality?

On behalf of Peter,

I would like the future products of the Braille note family to have
scanner functionality. The print can be transferred into the Braille
note
through a external scanner preferably a scanner that is portable. The
print
can be transferred with little or not errors. What do you guys think of
this idea?

Regards,

Peter Wolfe
