I went to the file manager, chose erase, navigated to the copy of the book on the flash disk, and pressed enter. I was asked if I was sure, to which I answered "yes", and then was notified that the file was protected and asked again if I was sure I wanted to erase it, to which I also answered "yes". Then, I went to the main menu and performed a simple reset with no keys held down. As of now, the file is gone.
