This is Joseph. The User Guide mentions to do the Service Reset
(reset+record) if BN does not respond and if the Hard Reset does not work.

Hey Angie,
I was surprised to find the  record button too.   A few weeks back my unit
locked up and  tech services had me  do a reset that included  holding down
the record button.
I am curious  what purpose it serves, since we simply press enter to begin
recording in  the memo's entry.
