The RECORD button can be pressed anywhere in the system and
recording will start. Press it again to stop, and press ENTER
with M to play back the most recently recorded/played memo.

I was surprised to find the record button too. A few weeks
back my unit
locked up and tech services had me do a reset that included
holding down
the record button.
I am curious what purpose it serves, since we simply press enter
to begin
recording in the memo's entry.
