Whew.  Thanks Don.  I just hope I don't have to do this too often.  Due to the 
way the battery charge drops off below around 40% it seems the onlt way to 
avoid that is to keep it topped up every night.  It os the next morniong now 
and it is still doing its thing.

Hi Graham,

BEfore the discharge starts and the chatter begins, the battery will charge to 
full capacity.  It's best to start the whole process when the battery level is 
below 90 
percent and below 80 is better.  If you start it with the battery already 
charged close to full capacity, the unit will trickle charge and it can take a 
very very long 
time to reach a full charge.

Once the battery has reached full charge it will start the discharge part of 
the cycle and start to chatter.  

Once the battery has discharged, it will charge again without chatter.  Then, 
the calibration process should be complete.
