When this happened to me I didn't need to charge the battery was at like 70
percent or so may be a little lower then that when this happened. I am
going to back things up though from now on. I just was surprised when the
unit was exactly the same as it was the day I got it when I lost everything.

Hi. That happened to me last week. My battery ran down flat. It has done
this before. Usually, I can plug it in and if turning it on doesn't bring
it
up, a reset will. However, this time, a reset brought the unit up, but
everything on my flash disk was gone.
Luckily, I had done a backup two days before. I can't stress enough to do
a
backup every time you charge the unit. It saved me from losing a lot of
things.
You can do the back up or incremental backup if you like when the unit is
plugged in after a full charge.
So, When I come in to see if my unit is fully charged yet, if it is, I do
a
backup before I even unplug the AC adapter.
