Hi, I seem to have solved most of the problem.

I now use ActiveSync 4,1 with success.

If you can access your version of ActiveSync help menu, go ! "online" and follow the relevant links till you get to download 4,1.

if you run windows xp sp2, and having activated your bluetooth tranceiver, go to control panel, bluetooth devices, options and check "discovery on".

open ActiveSync, file menu and arrow up to "connection settings".

check "allow connection to one of the following".
select "automatic" in the next combo box.

If you use your Jaws cursor in this screen yLl must propably see that com 4 has been selected.
You will also have checked "allow USB".

click OK.

minimize everything.

on the mPower, go to utilities, press m and select "connect to ActiveSync using bluetooth.

exit and open "options" and c then b for bvuetooth.

if off, turn it on.
let it search for devices and select your PC.

Select activeSync. If it says "paired", remove pairing.

now select your PC again, select "pair and activate ActiveSync".

Type in your password and quickly do a shift tab on the desktop to get to the notification area, press enter and type in your password.
click OK once.
in the next screen uncheck "hide this computer" and click OK.

on the mPower, go to utilities and press enter on connect to ActiveSync using bluetooth.

All things being equal, you should hear the relevant confirmation tones. if you have set a dial-up lan connection, it should use ethernet.

finally, on the mPower, open the browser and enjoy.

Note though, you can only browse small, simple sites via bluetooth.

larger sites such as acbradio and bbc, when loading, results in bluetooth shutting down on my mPower and the pairing procedure having to be initiated again.

I can stream audio from many other sites without problems using bluetooth.

when using USB there are no problems.

simple?

The only thing that is very obvious is that activesync is a total
pain in the butt! When I tried to get bluetooth to work with activesync I caused more problems than I solved. Activesync has totally stopped working on my computer no matter what kind of connection I try. It simply does not ever find my BrailleNote. I reinstalled, but accidently installed 3.7 instead of 3.8. I tried that too, but it did nothing. I'm trying to connect with USB first. Anyone have any ideas? How about a direct link for downloading activesync 3.8 since some major redecorating in our house has caused the CD that came with the MPower to be out of easy reach for the time being.

simple?

 Hi

MPower Bluetooth connection to PC says "paired and active".

On the PC ActiveSync says "not connected".

On MPower in Utilities Menu, when pressing C it says "There are
no
 Bluetooth ActiveSync devices available".

In Utilities, Miscellaneous, ActiveSync via Bluetooth is
enabled.

Either I am stupid and the operation is too simple to
understand or I
 am missing something very obvious.

Could someone please give me the steps to follow to use the PC
via Bluetooth.

 Thanks

 Deon
