Dennis,

Let's see if I can help you a little here <SMILE>

In the database design, I'm pretty sure you can select the grade of
Braille to be used in each field so that this becomes the expected one.
In the Debit field I notice it's Grade 2, but somewhere in the manual I
saw that only a minus sign (the dash) could be added here; so it
probably doesn't approve of the Braille Grade 2 minus sign! (Of course,
if this field were in computer Braille then dots 3,6 would be
acceptable, so you could change the grade of Braille to be used in that
field in the original database definition file.) I don't believe you
can add currency into a number field, but I could be wrong there.

Your alternative would be to change this field to a string, which will
give you much more option.

There are instructions in the Database chapter about what to do with a
database if you have already entered a lot of records and need to retain
the database, so you may want to look at that or come back with more
questions. If you can start entering your records again from scratch
then I suggest you first make modifications to the original Definitions
file as mentioned above.

I'm not the world's expert here at all so maybe others can add to this
on list. Hope this helps a bit.

Subject: [Braillenote] Help with numbers in Transaction database (Mpower
ks7)

I have posted before but received no replies :)
I'm having problems entering certain numbers in the debit/credit/balance

fields of the transactions database. Specifically I am using the UK
Braille
table, but have also tried with computer Braille. I occasionally get
things
to work, then can't remember what I did :)
Decimal numbers and negative numbers give me an out of range error. So
for
instance if I enter 132.47 for the amount, do I have to omit the number
sign, leave a space before the decimal point, etc etc. Similarly for a
negative amount, placement of minus sign and actual code
for the minus sign.
Any help welcomed in either UK or Computer code.
Thanks.
