Hello Khalid,
I would create a database for this class.
You could call it lecturer or whatever you like, and in the
fields, I would put student name, date, attended and you could
make this field a check list, so that if they attended you put y
for yes and if not you put n for no, and you could even have a
field that could be for their grade,
Now when the class is over for the week, you could then upload it
to your computer by copying it to a cf card and then inserting
that card into your computer, or by Activesync.
I hope this helps you,
Robert

Subject: [Braillenote] database
Hiya!
I'd like to do the following:
I'm teaching, and at the beginning of each class I have to take
attendance.
Usually each class has about 40 students. Last semester I used
to read the
name of each student from my BN and a sighted person will mark in
a sheet
of paper their attendance while I read out the names. Then at
the end of
each week, I have someone to dictate that sheet of paper to me,
so I can
put it in MS excel in my computer.
I used to write the names in keyword, but it takes time to
put the
cursor at the end of each name then writing "P" for the students
who
attended the class and "A" for those who are absent. I want a
way where I
can in about 3 seconds, read the name, write down "P" or "A".
Beside that I
have to write the date down in each lecture.
I'm using BN v7. Any suggestion in how I can depend fully
and
sufficiently in my BN with no need for sighted help. Any
suggestion is
greatly appreciated
Best Regards
Khalid

PS: I can send off line one of the excel file I use for the
students if
that will be helpful.
