I like the way the BN works. All of the braille displays I have used unlink
the display from the cursor in reading mode but they all give you the
ability to link the cursor to where you are. In the case of the BN, you can
press a cursor routing button once in a while.

I have my classic connected to my PC. When I'm using DBT Win, my margins
are set so I can read 30 cells on a line. I translate the doc into braille
and use the next and previous thumb keys to read line by line through the
document. I also set up a WindowEyes hot key so I can jump from paragraph
to paragraph.

You could do this with the BN, too. Then your cursor will always be with
you. But when I'm reading a book, I'd rather not have the cursor linked.

Subject: re: [Braillenote] reading with the braillenote braille display

: Hello Richard,
: You make a good poing.
: However, when I read, and I do lots of it, I notice that there
: are usually page numbers appearing on the display each time a
: page changes. Of course, most of what I read is from BOokshare or
: NLS. However, I also know that, on the BN QT, by pressing
: Function with the down-arrow, I can change the page. It helps
: me, but I don't know if that is a solution for anyone else.
