I know about the serial number issue; I've been frustrated by it
before. The option is "French Braille Language?" under the
Braille Display Options list. Why is French an option? It just
seems like a really random thing, to just pick a language without
asking the user, I mean. Does that option mean my BN can talk
French? If so, can I change it to Spanish?

Alex,
The language software is tied to a specific serial number of a
particular
BrailleNote. So, if your BrailleNote's serial number is 11111,
then it'l
only work on units that has serial number 11111, but not the
other way
around.

When I got my MPower, I was confused as well. What is the French
option in the Braille Display Options List? I have never found
that language option, and my classic had Spanish so I know what
to look for. If the BN does come with a free language, how do I
unlock it and why didn't I get to say which one I wanted?

This is Joseph. The French spelling dictionaries, braille files,
etc, are
already installed. To change the language, go to
Options/Announce using
different language (for speech and repetition of prompts), or, if
you are
using BT keyboard, press enter with l. That will allow you to
edit the
document (or speak)t eh document using whatever language has been
installed,
e.g. between English and French, in this case. I hope this
ifnroamtion may
help you.

Hi Everyone,
Is there French Braille already installed, and if there is, how
do i get it
to speak French? When I look at the Braille display settings, it
says
french Braille European or Canadian. Also, how do you install
and find a
new language? I'm getting a Spanish program for the mPower.
Thanks,
Martha
chau, tchao, tschau, ciao!!!
