Well, with the help of Shane Jackson at tech support the my gf's wireless
card, I've determined that my wireless card has gone bad. Her card works
flawlessly in my braille note. I placed an order for another wireless card
a bit ago and hope to have it in time for our trip to CSUN.

This is the first time I've experienced problems like this. Up until now,
it worked flawlessly. I'm still getting the error message but not every
time I insert the wireless card.

Are wireless problems more common than I expected? Verizon is being a pain
in the rusty dusty and I haven't received my ambicon yet to experience
problems with it. I'm just expecting problems is my poor computer.
