Hello,
With the mpower, you can use usb hard drives, usb thumb drives, and other peripherals that are operated by usb. They do not need software, but they must be able to operate off their own power, for the mpower is not going in many cases to have enough power to drive them. In the case of the western Digital 80 gb hard drive, it is meant to operate off the usb so the mpower does not have a problem with it. Though, it is a bit slow at times.
I hope this helps you.
Robert

drive?

I didn't think you could use a USB drive with the BN. Don't they
require
software?
