To recalibrate the batter on a classic BT BN...
PLug in the unit and go to options menu then I chord then F.. the machine will
begin that annoying repetitive msg.. after about 3 minutes unplug the unit
(disregard the msg telling you to plug the unit back in) My machine was fully
changed when I started and it took about 10 hours to discharge all the way.
After the complete dicharge plug-in the machine again and fully change it.

This is Joseph. It depends. My results showed that my Classic unit
discharges within 10 hours. When recalibrating the battery gauge, after you
fully charge your BN, go to Options/Support information mode, and press f.
While it is talking, disconnect the AC adapter. Allow the BN to talk until
it freezes. Another thing, be sure you have saved everything by returning to
Main Menu before you start recalibration. After the BN freezes, be sure to
connect the AC adapter. The BN should resume with the message: battery test
completed. Now you can recharge the BN fully. I hope this information may
help you.
P.S. I asumed that you have a Classic unit.

Subject: [Braillenote] battery recalibration

Hello,
I attempted to recalibrate my battery starting yesterday, but when I
checked the status today my braille display and the speech was still saying
I'm talking until my battery goes flat, this repetition is enough to drive
me crazy, how about you? Now this recalibration process had been going on
for over 24 hours. I remembered a few weeks ago, when I asked about the
recalibration process on this list, someone responded and said that it
should take 18 hours or less. So I am wondering, what is going on with this
machine? Could it still be recalibrating all of this time? Please help,
Janel
