Hi Terri

Thanks very much for your instructions on how to turn off the smart
quotes. I actually received three sets of instruction regarding how to do
this, all written differently, but providing the same outcome. It was
interesting to read each (from a Technical Authoring point of view!).

I have now thoroughly evaluated the text files for the KS7.0 manuals that
are available on the HumanWare website, and agree with you that there are
several sections in which the commands and their associated keystrokes are
formatted incorrectly. I will fix this problem in time for the next
release! Please except my apology for not fully understanding the problem
(and therefore not noticing this error), before writing my previous email
to you.

Kind regards
Kate

Dear Kate,

The .txt version of the Online Manual for Keysoft 7 didn't have the same
structure as the one for Keysoft 6. Keysoft 6.2 manual had the command
followed by a colon then the command keystroke. The Keysoft 7 manual has
the command followed by a colon with nothing after it. Further in the
document are the keystrokes. The keystrokes are NOT after the command. I

checked it with both my PC and the BN and the manuals read the same way in

both machines. Some of the commands in chapter 19 are written like those
in
the 6.2 manual but others aren't. I downoaded both the QT text manual and

the BT text manual and they read the same way. I didn't download the .pdf

files, just the .txt files.

Although I'm not a Word expert and I can't stand Word, I did learn how to
turn off smart quotes. It's in the format menu. Uncheck the box "use
smart
quotes."
