Tom,
I'm using an mpower, but when I used a pc there was a set of
directions on web braille to set up internet explorer to
recognize .brf file types. I don't have the directions anymore,
but you should be able to find them somewhere on the site.

Subject: [Braillenote] New Computer, Web Braille and Windows
Weirdness
Hi folks,
This is only sort of tangentially related to the Braille Note,
I'll admit,
but perhaps I'll get some leeway on this one. Here goes...
I always eagerly await the arrival of the newest issue of Braille
Book
Review on Web Braille. When I saw it there this morning, I
pounced on it and
went on a downloading frenzy so I could load up my Braille Note
with new
books. I downloaded 27 .brf files in all. When I checked out the
download
directory on my computer and began selecting all of the new
volumes that I
wanted to transfer to my flash card, I noticed that each file had
a double
extension, .brf.txt. It was a pain to have to rename each of
them, and of
course Windows gave me a dire warning every time I did. It always
annoys me
when Windows tries to save me from myself when I know darn well
what I'm
doing.
So anyway, my question is, how do I prevent Windows from tacking
on the .txt
extension when I download .brf files?
Thanks,
Tom
