Hi Sammie and others; All 3 you mentioned here have helped me greatly to learn my BN. Seville is a wonderful teacher. Sarah C and V have taught me a great deal. Rhonda has been always there to walk me through a task, over the phone. I pick up things a lot better doing them right on the spot while someone is giving me directions. Thanks to everyone on the list for all your knowledge.

A special thanks to those who understand that not all of us have or use computers. For me, the price of a computer is not why I don't have one. I have owned three, the first was from Mr Langford of the Texas Center For The Physically Impaired, and it cost me only $50.00. I gave it and all the others away to blind people who could use a computer with JAWS installed, because I couldn't learn to use them. I am not able to remember all the commands a computer require, nor have I ever been comfortable with the keyboard. I've never been a typist, and have found it difficult to learn to type after losing my vision at age 62. Braille, however was very easy to learn and my BrailleNote (soon to be an MPower) serves me very well. The Braille keyboard is as easy to operate as the Perkins Braillewriter was, and the help menu moves me through operations without my fingers losing there place on the keyboard. And, when I get stuck, there's always Rhonda Clark, Seville Allen, and sometimes this list to learn from. I think that most of us who don't use or own a computer, realize that notetakers, regardless of how Sophisticated they are, will never replace a personal computer. I believe what we would like is for our notetaker to perform as advertised, and to have people respond to our questions without telling us how much better off we'd be if we used a computer. Ms. Cranston, I love it when you emerge from your rock with your words of wisdom. Reading your messages to the list, I believe that you own both a notetaker and a computer, so I'd like to thank you for responding to our queries without being critical because we only use our BN, PK, or VN and not a computer. Please come out from under your rock as often as you wish.
