This is Martha L. I've often thought that having a rental for various
equipment would be a good idea for schools, college students, etc.

Rachael;
If HW replaces the braille displays and then rents them out, they should
be abould to make enough money to cover the display and more. I have
not read Terri Panits e-mail, but anyone knows if she was talking about
deaf, they can not servive on speach alone.
Just my two sence. I sure would love it if they would start a rental
program. I think it would relieve many headaches of people in school
and those who depend on the BN for their job. I use my unit on the job,
but do not depend on it like a student or someone who keeps record of
sales....
If HW does not want to be bothered with the responsibility, some other
company could buy the referbished braille notes and start a rental
program.

Terri,

Since you suggest that in a theoretical loaner program,
deaf-blind should have priority, and you further suggest that HW
should use old classics for these loaners, I'm wondering how you
propose the deaf-blind be able to take advantage of this? Since
the thing taken from the classics to use in the implant is the
Braille display, it would seem to me that it's not a viable
suggestion.

You are fortunate, as you say, but you might do well to put
yourself in the place of people for whom you are suggesting
solutions.

Rachael
