Hi Kathy, if the phone you are trying to pair with does not offer a modem as a service, then the BrailleNote or any other device for that matter, will not be able to use that phone as a modem. Some phones may only offer Bluetooth for synchronisation for instance, but, thinking that any web or e-mail activity will take place on the phone itself, will not offer the modem service. my Nokia 6630 for example does offer a modem as a service, and I am presented with this option once the BrailleNote discovers my phone.
