Instead of going to the main menu all the time I would strongly recommend saving the file you are editing regularly. I have gone days without seeing the main menu once. I just save my document when I have done some editing and I frequently turn my BrailleNote off or switch to other applications. I have been working with my BN that way for years, first with the original BrailleNote BT 32 and now with an MPower. I have frequently had to do resets, but I've never lost anything, because saving has become a totally automatic thing. I just hit Space with S then enter then y and I'm back to writing in my document in a couple seconds. Going to the main menu would waste way too much time, so I wouldn't do it often enough to protect all my work. I haven't noticed that resets are less frequent when you go to the main menu often either. I tried it for a while to see, but I didn't really notice a difference in behavior.
If you have a classic and have a huge file open you might want to leave it before turning your BrailleNote off, because you can save time by not opening the file all the time if you don't happen to need that file next time you turn your BN on.
