Hi Reggie, yes I believe any manual new page markers will be preserved 
when you change back. Because RTF works in pairs of format markers, it's 
actually quite easy to inadvertently edit one out and thus corrupt the 
file which I suspect is what's happening here.

Oh, Jonathan, thank you so very much!!! I will go through the steps as 
outlined.  However, my problem will not be from .RTF to .TXT but when I 
change back.  Will the page breaks be saved then? If I were to re-save my 
file in .RTF, would that help keep the file whole.  I am assuming that 
when 
I open the file originally that it is a .TXT trying to read .RTF.  If I 
need 
to keep in .RTF, what can I do to avoid taking out format markers?  I 
deeply 
appreciate your help.  I have not had this problem since the large file 
problem, and it is very frustrating.
