Andrew;
The way I look at it, if Pacmate can do it then HW can! It may be a chalange
but look at how many blind and deaf blind it would help. The deaf blind could
communicate with their other blind and sighted friends and open their means of
communication to the world. Please talk to other HW staff, for us.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
I am not deaf, but do have a hearing problem and have to use an amplifier at
work.
Thanks again.

Subject: [Braillenote] Baudot Code : technical note

I'm not going to say anything about when or whether we should include a
TTY in KeySoft, but I do believe it is technically possible to get our
modem chip to send and receive Baudot code. Obviously for a visual
display, we'd need some sort of external device.

Even if we couldn't use the modem chip, we could probably generate the
right tones using the internal speaker, in the same way we could also
generate the tones that touch-tone phones use.

So that's the "how?" question dealt with - just leaving us with when? how
much? etc. etc. <grin> Those aren't my department I'm afraid.

Andy.
