The only reason to wait for HW to make an adaptor is if nothing exists. There is an easy way to find out if something works. We need a sighted person to examine the back of our standard wall adaptors. There is an embossed square and a sticker which should contain specific power specifications that the adaptor provides. If we find a car adaptor which provides these specs, then we don't need to depend on HW to make one.
Although I don't know this for sure, I suspect that the power specs for the BN are pretty standard. It would cost much much more if hw created a system with completely nonstandard power requirements. So, the bottom line? Do the research, find something that works and MPower yourself. Don't wait around for HW to create something they don't seem all that interested in providing for their customer base. HumanWare could manufacture one and sell for less than 40 if they felt inclined. What is so special about the Igo that allows them to charge $150.00 for it? Many years ago my father used to own a car adaptor which had a variable voltage switch and removable tips and I don't think he paid that much; at least I hope he didn't. I've recently seen rechargable battery packs for portable DVD players. They simply plug in to the power port for your car DVD. I didn't look too closely to see if the tips were interchangable, but something like that might work as well. This is all I had to do, it did not harm the unit. It is very easy to figure out what tip is for what device, and if you go to the Sendero website, you can see what tips work for several of the devices, such as the braillenote, gps.
