Hi Dean,
What would be the best thing to do then if, for example someone found something that he or she thought would be of interest to the list? For example Robert with his list of wireless cards that work with mPower? Is there a way we could flag it so you would get it and be able decide? on another front, can we maybe get some kind of patch that would help with the multiple download thing? For me, it's just annoying to have to reset after each download, but I'm thinking about people who need to download multiple files for their work or for school. For them, the time aspect of this could be a little more than just annoying. As for the upgrade, which would have a fix for this problem, would this be a major upgrade that we would have to use our smas on, or would it be a free upgrade like the one that had the planner on the old classic?

thanks for the help and good luck fixing the problem!!!

Richard, still loving his new mPower

Hi list:

As list administrator, I don't allow most attachments to be sent
to the list
for a couple of reasons, one which has already been mentioned,
taking into
account the spread of viruses.

The second reason is that many people on this list are on slow
connections
and to make being subscribed to the list a more enjoyable
experience for
them as well, I have the list software strip attachments and I
also limit
the size of the message body, so that large messages are sent to
me first,
before being approved.

Hello Richard,
I have spoken with several computer tech people today, and I
have
received the response that they don't know why a particular
listserv would not allow attachments.
Not only did I receive this information, but I have received
e-mails and sent e-mails in the last few days from several
listservs I am on, and the attachments have all gone and have
been read just fine.
So when I was told that I could not send and receive attachments
on the braillenote listserv, I was quite surprised.
REGARDS,
Robert

Hi Robert and others,
I am on several lists and none allow attachments. The rationale
for
not allowing them, as I understand it, is that it would be too
easy
for someone to spread a virus via attachment to an entire list in
one shot.
The ones that allow attachments must have a lot of confidence in
their anti-virus procedures.

Hello Sarah,
This is interesting, for I am on many different listservs, and
this
is the only one that I know of that I can't send or receive an
attachment.
So this has been a learning experience for me.
Regards,
Robert

I'm on several lists, (too many actually, Grins), and I can only
send attachments to one of them, which happens to be the one I
own. So, at least in my experience, it's standard list
procedure,
but I should probably have included that caveat in my last
message.

Hello,
I have sent attachments to other listservs, so I am not sure what
you mean by standard list procedure.
Unless you mean just for this one.
Robert

Hello Stacey,
I am including an attachment with this e-mail.
It will have information on what wireless cards work with the
mpower.
You can get the Amficom card through Humanware, and any of the
cards can be purchased through the company in the file that I am
sending.
