Hi joseph,
This seems pretty difficult. In answer to your second question, no I didn't
have that box checked. But I have since checked it. When I turn on
bluetooth, and have the bn search for bluetooth devices, it does not see the
computer. Interestingly enough when my phone's bluetooth was on, the bn saw
that.
I didn't try to use the usb because I didn't anticipate that I would have
to.

This is Joseph. When you searched for Bluetooth devices, does your PC show
up as a device? If it is, does it say that ActiveSync is availible? Is this
the first time that you are connecting to your computer (many people
recommend that you use USB as the initial connection)? One more thing: did
you checked the box that says, "Allow LAN and Remote Access Service (RAS)
connection?"

Hi joseph,
Okay, that' has been taken care of. I don't see that the windows fire walll
is blocking active sync. As a matter of fact, it's working fine with my
maestro which you may know is a usb device. But none the less it still will
not work. So I'm obviously doing something wrong./

This is Joseph. Is the ActiveSync conneciton set to Bluetooth? Go to Main
Menu/Utilties/Miscellaneous Options/ActiveSync Connection. Make sure that
Bluetooth is selected. P.S. Make sure that Windows Firewall does not block
ActiveSync.

Hey Joseph,
I took your suggestion and turned off my phone. It's still no go. First let
me say, I'm running windows xp professional service pack 2. I've installed
active sync 3.8 now when I open active sync and look under file in the
connectivity manager, I have checked serial and infrared. When I try to open
the dialog box, to put in a serial port number, nothing happens. I arrowed
around with my mouse keys and hear a reference to comport 3. then just below
that I hear status and no comport. So then I tried going to control panel
and adding the braillenote in bluetooth which the computer did permit me to
do. I tried it with a passkey I made up, but since the braillenote did not
see the computer the braillenote did not offer me an opportunity to put in a
passkey. So I tried it without a passkey, and while the add bluetooth device
was completed successfully acfcording to my computer, the two still do not
talked to one another. I get the same information in active sync as I did
before. So I do not know what to do next.
