Dear Jonathan and Humanware Colleagues:

Words seem inadequte to express my shock and sadness on learning of Dean Jackson's passing!

Like many on the BN List, I'd come to rely on Dean's enlightening messages. Few of us on the Braillenote List will forget the bedlam that reigned during the upgrading of KS 7.0! In spite of the long hours and constant postings, Dean remained patient, supportive and kept his sense of humor.

As a List member who is deaf as well as blind, Dean will hold a special place in my heart and memory, because, by his example, he encouraged others to share their knowledge, no matter how different the need from the norm.

In his message, Dr. Mander stated that Dean will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I hope they will find comfort in the high level of respect and affection their son achieved during a life that was short, but distinguished by a measure of fulfillment that few of us, twice his age, can match.
Warmest regards,

Kathleen Spear
