Hi don,
You actually have given me an idea. I had the cradle for the maestro
connected via the usb and the maestro was sitting in it. One of the reasons
I was running active sync was because of the maestro. I remember asking a
while back if it was possible to run maestro and the bn in terms of active
sync. I was told yes.
Anway, once I disonnected maestro from the usb port, the items such as
delete partnerships actually showed up and no longer reported itself as
unavailable. So before I started going through the steps you suggested, I
turned on bluetooth on the bn and paired it with my computer. I then went to
utilities and told it to connect using bluetooth. I heard sound from the bn.
I then told the bn to sync now. I got a message again saying it couldn't
find the partnership. But in addition to that, I was told to run keysync and
if I was using windows firewall, I had to uncheck port no 9-- I didn't catch
the last two numbers and for some reason I couldn't get it back by smply
running sync now. All I get is cannot find partnership with no further
message. Can you tell me what this means?
Thanks. You have been a big help along with others on the list.

Hi Denise,

What you might want to do at this point is to delete all existing
partnerships on your pc.

To do this, disconnect your MPower from the pc to be sure Activesync is not
connected anywhere.

Then open activesync and access the files menu and arrow to delete
partnership. It should allow you to delete any or all partnerships.

After you delete the partnership, make sure you also haven't inadvertently
set up an additional one. Keep deleting until you get the message that
delete partnership is not available.

Then, Connect your MPower and pc and when activesync comes up and asks for a
partnership, hit enter on "yes".

You should then get the list of 7 check boxes for synchronization. You want
to uncheck all of these except possibly for the one for file synchronization
if you want to do that.

Note that this just synchronizes a file or files you place in a specific
directory on the pc which is created by activesync to the same files on a
special directory on the MPower which is also created by activesync and
should't be confused with syncing contacts or the planner. You use keysync
for syncing the contacts and/or planner.

Also, you may want to do a 4 5 6 (j k l) reset on the MPower before you try
to create the partnership to be sure it's also deleted from the MPower end
of things.

Remember that if you have to do a 4 5 6 (j k l) reset for any reason, the
partnership you previously created will no longer exist when activesync on
the pc tries to connect to the MPower.

This all sounds rather complicated, but it really is quite easy once you've
done it a time or two.

Hi all,

I think I have one more step to go before I can finally sync my planner and
contacts list. Now the problem is active sync. I have installed active sync
3.8. during the installation, I was asked which partnership I wanted, and I
chose standard. Yet, when I tried to sync with the bn via bluetooth, which
seems to be set up properly now, the bn said it could not find a
partnership. I looked under file and saw that delete partnership and get
connected were marked as unavailable. The other thing is I seem to remember
in prior versions of active sync, I had to specify the name of the
partnership. But I didn't see it this time during installation.

P.s.
One of these days I'm going to actually sync my planner and contacts with
the bn.
Thanks.
