If you have Cingular, all you need to put in the phone number field is:
*99#
This is all you need if you have a data plan through Cingular.

I have done something different and have gotten the modem to show
up. I went in to the phone settings and activated GPRS. Now I see
the modem. Now I just have to get the init string for the modem.
