Hello Joseph,
That sounds neat, but the power adapter I bought from Western
digital is the old fashioned kind that plugs into the wall
outlet.

Robert,
This is Joseph. I, too, have the same model. The adapter that I
have is an
adapter which plugs into the USB port (a friend of mine gave me
that knid of
adapter).

Hello,
It depends on which passport we are talking about.
I have the western Digital 80 gb hard drive, and although it is
powered by
usb, there is a seperate ac adapter you can buy which I did,
thinking it
might help speed up things and keep it from locking up or taking
over ten
minutes to do many functions, but this is not the case, it is
still as slow.
The power adapter, is not a usb adapter, it is a brick like power
adapter
that plugs in to the wall outlet.
Hope this hels.
Robert

Andy,
This is Joseph. The hard drive is powered by USB, and the
adapter is also
powered by USB.

Hi,
I'd guess that you're not actually charging the drive, just
powering it
from the mains or not - you have the choice of it sucking a fair
amount of
power out your mPower batteries, or plugging it into the mains.
I'm sure I
will be corrected if I'm wrong there ..
regards,
Andy.
