Since the MP is a battery eater, I would probably plug the drive in so the battery on the MP wouldn't drain. I might even plug both the MP and the hard drive in.
But what confuses me is the list of hard drives Western Digital has. People have been mentioning the Passport drive, but wouldn't other Western Digital drives work with the MP too?
