Hello Terri,
Try an external mike. I got one shaped like a wand from Best
Buy for $15.00 and the reception is great. The noise I get is in
the room where I'm recording and not from the media player of the
MPower. The mike makes a great deal of difference, and Best Buy
will let you return it if it doesn't work to your satisfaction.
Mine is the cheap one and does not have batteries or require an
external power supply. My apologies if the recording you are
doing is from the internet, because I don't think an external
mike will help you in that situation.
