I have had some really good recording on my bn and some that haven 't turned out as well probably because of the room size and some other things. I use it though to record classes. I love it I even tried recording parts of a tv show one time just to see how it would turn out. and it was pretty good. although it can't be to far away from the tv when I do this.

I'm surprised you're able to record anything and understand it.
My MP
recordings are so lousy I wouldn't even think of using the memo
feature to
record a meeting. Tech Support has told me my recordings are
normal, but
they're unsatisfactory. Too much noise and hiss and the mike
doesn't pick
up anything very well except the machine's own synthesizer. My
cell phone
does better than that.

I plan to send my unit in to see if the service department can
correct this
as soon as I find out the turn-around time will be less than two
weeks.

Subject: [Braillenote] question about recording

:
: Hello List,
: As recording secretary for my blind veterans group, I have
: been using my new MPower (with great success) to record the
: minutes of our monthly meetings. Our meetings last two to two
: and one-half hours, and I listen to the minutes again as I
: prepare a brief summary to be read at the next meeting. I have
a
: question about this that perhaps someone on the list can answer
: for me.
: While listening to the minutes as they are played back and
: writing the summary in the word processor, occasionally I miss
a
: few words. I'd like to know how I can back up and replay one
to
: five words of the recording without leaving or backing up in
the
: word processor. If this is possible, please can someone
explain
: how it is done. I hate having to listen to hours of recording
: again just for a word or two.
: Thanking the list in advance for any help anyone can give on
: this problem. If this is not an appropriate subject for the
: list, I apologize, and am asking you to please reply to me
: off-list. My E-Mail address is:

: Thank you,
