The braille display will certainly last more than two years. I bought my
original Braille note in 2001 and just had it transplanted, same braille
display and I anticipate that it will continue working for a long time into
the future.

Kevin and others,
This is Jospeh. It is recommended that you send your unit at least once a
year to perform maintenance on it, such as replacing the battery, software
upgrades, cleaning the display, and so on. The braille display will lost
about 2 or 3 years.

Dear List,
I was wondering what is the life of the Braille Display, or has anyone had
to send it in to get it fixed or replaced even. I was just wondering since
I have heard stories about people needing to send their units in to get
their batteries changed any other issues primarily software issues, but
nothing about the display. Thanks for the information you are able to
provide. Kevin
