Hi Jonathan!
Long time no chat!
Speaking of investigations of bn problems, how does one go about
becoming a beta tester? I have the mpower with ks 7 and a bt
keyboard.
I can't do anything with bluetooth right now, because I don't
have access to a bluetooth cellphone or device.
I have a dialup connection with internet and email, so I could
test anything involving those things as well as anything else on
the Bn itself.
I love this product and have lots of fun with it every day.
It's my library, calculator, phone and address book, sometime
music player and last but not least, my almost infinite
gameboard!
The only problem I am having with the media player right now
besides its being inflicted with the "no more than one download"
bug is that, I created a playlist doing everything I read in the
manual. I did one album that I wanted to have as a playlist.
I don't know the name of all the songs, so I used the name the
wripping program, (cedex) gave the songs audio track 1 etc.
I have my music on a 1 gig cf card, so I did the playlist for one
of the albums on that card, Enya's Amarantine I believe I spelled
it right.
Anyway, there are 11 tracks on this album, and I checked several
times to make sure I got it right.
When I try to play it however, I get the message that the player
can't open track 11 and to make sure all the info is correct.
I can play the file regularly though, and it is an mp3 just like
the rest of the files.
I checked and rechecked to see if I did anything different with
track 11, and can find nothing that I didn't do with the other
tracks.
Any idea what might be happening and what I can do about it?
Thanks for taking the time to read this rather long message.
Richard, wanting to make my first playlist work

RE: [Braillenote] cell phone internet access
As of Dec. 31 of last year, Cingular still offers the unlimited
data plan,
for which I am very grateful. I really missed being able to go
online
anywhere with my BrailleNote and cell phone, and now I have this
capability again. BTW, Jonathan, do you do much web surfing with
your BN
and phone? If so, does your BN drop the bluetooth connection
from time to
time? I have this problem quite frequently, if I attempt to load
many web
pages in Keyweb, bluetooth on the mPower side spontaneously shuts
itself
off. This has also occasionally happened when I attempted to
send an
Email with an MP3 attachment, but the web surfing issue is almost
constant, and proves to be a real nuisance. Any thoughts would
be very
much appreciated.
Thanks,
Sarah

Hi John, 10 or 20 megs will get you a lot if you are just
browsing the web
and even doing a little bit of e-mail. Obviously if you're
downloading 500
messages at a time, complete with quoted stuff at the bottom,
you'll start
to chew through data quite quickly.
Yes, when you stream, you are using data, however GPRS isn't
really fast
enough to do much streaming with. Newer technologies will permit
this
however. I don't know if they still offer this, but when I
signed up with
Cingular, I got an unlimited data plan, which takes all the worry
out of
using the cell [hone for data.

[Braillenote] cell phone internet access
Hi Folks,
To all that are using celphones as modems to get on the internet.
What
data plan do you have? I use Cingular and I don't know how many
megabits
of download I should get. How far will 10 or 20 megs get you for
internet
browsing? Also, when you are streaming, are you actually
downloading?
Because I would also would like to listen to some live radio
streams on my
BN.
