Hi All,
John, with your mPower plugged in to electricity, do a space with o
followed by a space with i to get in to support information mode.
Press the letter s. If it reports trickle charging, go back to the
main menu, power down the unit and briefly unplug and then plug back
in the AC power. This will force the mPower to go back in to fast
charge mode. It should then go ahead and completely charge the
battery. If not, you may have to repeat these steps a couple of times
until it gets to 100 percent charged.

Hi,
I can tell you what i did but to me it doesn't make sense.
I am a long time JAWS user and for years have enjoyed Eloquence.
So the first thing I did when I turned it on tuesday evening was
change the voice to Eloquence.
A couple of minutes ago just to try something different, I changed
the voice back to Keynote and did a plain reset. Nothing had changed
so I turned the mPower off.
After reading your post I was going to try all of the options you
suggested and so I turned it back on and the braille display popped up.
I don't know why this all happened and or if it will happen again.
I'd like to get some input from Jonathan and the tech support people
if they have any suggestions as to why this happened.
My battery is now at 81% so that would seem to be the next obstacle
unless of course my braille display goes away again.

Hi,
I'd start by saying "Yes" to Braille, even if it says it's on in
the Options menu. Then I'd work through the various resets (even a
simple one has brought the Braille back for me on the PK
occasionally). You may have to try all before you get success. As
it's a new mPower, I'd check again your battery status to make sure
that it's really 75 percent, in case it talks about recalibration
and it's not accurate. In any case, it wouldn't hurt to give some
power for a few minutes. I'd go through all the obvious possible
steps before wanting to part with an mPower!
HTH: Let us know what happens.

Hi,
I tried it with no success.
The braille has always been on, I verified it by going into
options and braile display.

Hi,
Before I try this you'll have to tell me what the right thumb
key does. I have mine set to custom.

John,
The issue I believe you are facing is somehow or another the
Braille got turned off. In order to turn the Braille back on
you will press and hold the far right thumb key with the space
bar, then release both of them at the same time.
I hope this works out

Subject: [Braillenote] my braille display has crashed!
Hi,
I also have an email in to Chris Polk at Humanware but thought
I'd also send my problem to the list for feedback.
I received my transplanted mPower back on Tuesday night.
It worked fine.
Today while at work I was reading through my planner and correcting some
conflicts I was getting with Keysync.
All of a sudden, the braille dots just disappeared.
I reset it with no keys held down and had just speech.
I went into the options and it says braille is currently on
and the thumb keys allow me to move through the menus but of
course only with speech.
I don't want to do anything more until I have a chance to
speak or receive
email from somedody who knows what to do next.
Any thoughts?
John
