Estin,
The pilot will notify everyone on the announcement system, when exactly you are able to take equipment out again, it is at the point once you reach cruising altitudes when you are able to use equipment. Then they will notify you when you have to put everything away, (it is when you are either landing or taking off).
I hope this helps.
Kevin

This may be a bit off topic, but how do you get the DVS tracks? I
tried, but the only software I have access to makes a .wmv file
in mono, which then has to be translated to .mp3 for space
saving. What do you use that works on your mPower?

Hello All:

First let me tell you that I travel about 14 times per year and
without a
doubt, my MPower travels with me EVERYWHERE!! I carry it either
on its own,
or in my regular tech bag with my laptop and other paraphernalia.
I have
not had any adverse effects on it or any of its components like
cards
(Compact flash or SD).

I usually place it in its own container like my laptop and send
it on
through the X-Ray. If they ask, which is not often, I simply
identify it as
a PDA. I've also heard a rumor that the BrailleNote is actually
listed on
their documentation as a blindness aid. I don't have any
verification of
this yet.

Quite honestly, I can't imagine traveling without it. I usually
will
download a book or newspaper just prior to takeoff from Bookshare
and always
have a couple of DVS movie sound tracks with me. Who needs
in-flight
entertainment anyway.

So, enjoy your MPowered or BrailleNoted travels and don't worry
about it.
hth
Jeff
