Hi, again,
I did not describe things quite accurately. There is the piece that plugs
into their electrical system and then a small transformer that plugs into
that. Then you plug the BN charger into that. I gorgot the transformer.

Hi,
I actually have some of ths stuff that I don't need any more and would be
willing to sell it for a nominal fee. I have been overseas several times
with a Braille device. I bought a better set from Circuit City so I don't
need what I bought originally. In some of Scotland, the electrical
standard is as it is here. In other parts, you must use a 220 converter.
My older units work fine but cannot accept anything with a motor in it.
For the British Isles, you must use one piece that has the angled
three-pronged plug to go into their outlets and then add a prug with round
prongs to your BN -s plug to go into that.

I am going to Scotland in August. I am just going to get a converter at
WalMart. I think a pack of a bunch of countries is $10 or something, and
you plug them into the wall over in the country you are visiting, then
plug your device into them, I think. They are supposed to be computer-safe.

Subject: [Braillenote] International Travel With A BrailleNote
Mpower
Ottawa Canada
I am interested in taking my BrailleNote Mpower with me on some
international trips.
I believe they use 220 Volt 50 Hz electric power in the UK,
Europe, Africa and Australia and New Zealand.
Question: Does Humanware sell just one 220 Volt 50 Hz AC
adapter, or would I need a different one for each country to be
visited as I hear the electrical outlets for 220 Volt power
differ in the shape and arrangement of the plugs they accept.
Hope to hear back soon.
ps: I hear there are a variety of different electrical sockets
(Power Points) used in the UK.
Brian
