Hello Stephanie: You will love broadband DSL along with your BrailleNote/MPower. The speed is incredible and with Keysoft 7 you have a lot of connectivity options. Keysoft 7 can use both wired and wireless Network connections. And, yes, you can use a router. If you go for the wired variety of connection, you will need a low-powered Ethernet adapter available from Humanware and other places. If you go with the wireless connection, Humanware maintains a page on their website of compatible cards. If you can afford a wireless card and router (You will need one of these for a wireless connection), I highly recommend the wireless option. In most cases, if you decide not to use a router, you can connect the Ethernet cable directly into the modem.
In answer to your second email, that is exactly what the router is designed to do. It is used to allow multiple connections (PC or BrailleNote) to share one broadband connection at the same time. As I write this, I am checking email on my MPower and doing some heavy uploading and downloading with my laptop. Most routers have 4 physical connections. In other words, there are 4 actual Ethernet ports available on the back of the router. However, with wireless, you can have as many as 25 or so (Depending on traffic) devices connected wirelessly. hth Jeff ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote
