Hello Stephanie: Congratulations on your new broadband connection. You're really going to love it. Normally "Wireless" routers have two little rubberized antennas sticking out of the back. And/or they might have the letter b or g in their name. i.e. Linksys WRT54g. I'm assuming here that you have a router. A router is a box with a cable running between your broadband modem (cable or DSL) and the router and then usually 3 or 4 other Ethernet holes for connecting all your computing devices.
Connecting to it with your BrailleNote is dependant on whether or not you're going to go wireless. If not, you'll connect an Ethernet cable between your BrailleNote's Ethernet card (Low power socket in the rear of the BrailleNote) and the router. You'll then need to create a communications configuration in the connectivity section of your options menu. If you are going "Wireless", then you'll connect an approved wireless card (I use the Ambicom WL1100c) to either the rear or side slot of your BrailleNote and again create a communication configuration under Connectivity options. If your router has security invoked, there are some extra steps you need to follow. So, to start out getting you going, tell us What router your using, whether or not it is wireless (Does it have antennas), are you using a BT or QT style of BrailleNote and whether or not your going to want to connect wirelessly. hth Jeff [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote
