Hi, Jim writes:
Hello all! I downloaded a book from the NLS Web Braille service successfully. Perhaps one might blame lawyers or those among us who allowed their files to fall into the wrong hands. Now we must put up with the agreement each time we download a volume. Too bad we can't get an entire book once we accept the term of the agreement but no! It is each volume. I doubt this will be changed at all! It is truly unfortunate but I think that miserable agreement is here to stay. Yes, perhaps so. I'm also annoyed because I typically find the volume that I want in Internet Explorer and right-click it, then select "save target as". Each time I try to do that, I get an error message stating that the file can't be downloaded or the page cannot be found. It's a pain. Also, I have to submit my user name and password when accessing certain sections even after I've already logged in, which isn't too cool. But hey, at least it's back. Perhaps if enough people squawk about the annoyances, they'll tweak it and make it friendlier.
