Hello Michael:

You can use the BrailleNote as an external synthesizer. I know that for JAWS, Humanware has posted a special set of drivers to allow for this on their website. I'm sure there is something similar for Window Eyes, but I'm not as familliar with this technology.

I know that for JAWS, you download the drivers and reinstall JAWS to include those drivers as an external synthesizer. You then connect the BrailleNote to your PC or laptop with the serial cable included with the BrailleNote and then use JAWS to switch to that external synthesizer via the utilities menu. Of course, you also need to set your BrailleNote to remote synthesizer mode.

To be truthful, I've just downloaded the drivers and will be experimenting with this over the next few days.

hth
Jeff
