Hello,
When you get that message that you must sign in and pay that means that the hot spot is not free.
There are many free hot spots, you just have to find them.
When you get the message server is not found, that usually means that the hot spot has a encreption that you must get in order to access the wireless.
Good luck,
Robert

Subject: [Braillenote] HotSpots

Dear Listers,

I was wondering if anyone has tried using their BrailleNote to
connect to a HotSpot, such as: Starbuck's, malls, or any other
place that offers WiFi access.

I recently tried this at Starbuck's, I was able to find, connect
to the internet; the part where I found some problems was when I
tried opening the web browser, when I tried to open the web
browser, the page that appeared was a page that required a user
name and password. And, when I read further down the page, there
was information about pricing, I thought the purpose of HotSpots
was to be able to access the internet, get in and out, all
without paying. Later that same day, I still had the
determination to get on to the internet, for the sake of doing
so, I went to the movies, I was a bit early, so I tried accessing
their internet, I found, connected, but when I tried opening the
browser, I got the message "cannot find server."

Has anyone had this experience when trying to access a HotSpot,
if so, can you please fill me in on your work-around I didn't
think trying to access a HotSpot could be so complicated.
Thanks for the information you are able to provide regarding this
topic.
Kevin
