If your friend/family happens to have high-speed internet, you could hook up
your BN to their router during the day or evening, download it all, then sort
it later in the privacy of your room. Then you could reconnect the BN to the
router in the morning and send what you wrote the night before. Just a few
thoughts.

well, actually, I understand all about the various connections after using a
PC at work everyday and at home everyday for eight years. but normally, I
don't use the braille note in my everyday internet use, though I use it
everyday for other things. In the past, I just did dial up with the BN when
I traveled. But I didn't want to deal with dial up anymore, since hotels
are coming up with cute ways to charge for local calls to get in on the
email deal. So, basically, what I was trying to figure out was if I will
have to connect my mPower to friends/family's modems. Sounds like that's
definitely the case, which sort of loses the ability to do email privately
in my room at night. Oh well. I'll just be good and go no mail on
everything, but I always feel like I'll miss something very important when I
do that!

Hi Sherry,

You are confused because you do not understand what going on.
First, There are several ways to connect to the Internet. There is dial-um
and broadband. You know what dial-up is. Broadband includes both cable and
DSL. You can also get to the net via a network. Network connections
inclode: ethernet wireless and bluetooth.

When you go to an hotel, you can use your ethernet card to connet there.
Your friends and family may have broadband connections in their homes and
they may also have a network that you can connect to. Some of your friends
and family may just have telephones.
You will have to ask in order to find what type of connections are available
in each place you're going to visit.

Your next problem will be to configure your BrailleNote to meet your needs.
My suggestion would be to read the manual on connectivity, and then come
back to us for more help.
