it's because KeySoft still has to talk to the interpreter - launch it, tell it which game file to open, pass the interpreter's output back to the user, and so on. It's not just a program that you run, like a .exe file, it needs interfacing to KeySoft (technically, it's a dynamic linked library). regards, Andy.
