Hi,
I was told that I should forward this to huminware. It's a problem with the
sendero GPS that they say is keysofts fault. Can someone from huminware
please look in to this? All of the messages are below. THANKS!

Sorry if you do not feel that this issue is a Keysoft function restriction
and is the intended design. The Sendero software can not change this
design
of Keysoft. There are many reasons that Keysoft operates this way. If
you
feel that this is a serious issue I would recommend that you contact
Humanware for there assistance.

This might be "normal operation", but it can cause problems. Again, I
almost missed my stop because of the speech accidentally being turned off.
I would hope that it can be looked in to. I will definitely keep my thumb
keys turned off in the GPS app. for now.

Gian,
This is normal operation. The dots 123456 command will lock the keyboard
from issuing GPS commands. The keyboard command you are addressing are
Keysoft commands. If you investigate further you will find that many of
the
Keysoft commands can be executed with the keyboard locked. Some examples
are
check time or date, return to main menu, go to the Keysoft options menu
turn
on/off
Braille ect.
For many reasons a venders program can not override the Keysoft
controlled
key commands.

Subject: [gps-talkusers] Bug with locking the keyboard
Hi folks,
I would like to report what I think is a bug.
When you lock the keyboard with a 123456, The previous with space bar
keystroke still works. That is the keystroke that turns off speech on
the
BN BT. I was on a bus and had my keyboard locked, but the speech some
how
got turned off and I almost missed my stop. Thank God the driver
remembered
to announce it. When I checked if that keystroke actually would work
while
the keyboard is locked, it actually did. I can reproduce this at will.
I must of activated that keystroke by mistake. I had headphones on and
the
BN's cover on, so I must of pressed the previous thumb key and the space
bar
together some how.
I am using GPS v 3.5 on a BN MPower running keysoft 7 build 22. I am
using
eloquence for my speech.
Steps to reproduce:
1. When running GPS, lock your key board with 123456.
2. Confirm that your keyboard is locked by pressing a key or two.
3. Try to turn off speech by pressing space with previous on the BT
keyboard.
It would be interesting to know if this also happens on a QT keyboard.
4. Notice that your speech is now turned off and the GPS will not speak
any
of the lookaround info.
5. Again confirm that the keyboard is locked by pressing some other
keystrokes. You will get the keyboard is locked message on your Braille
display.
6. turn speech on again by pressing space with previous.
Can anyone confirm or not confirm? THANKS!
Gian Pedulla
