Hi Terry and list,
It is critical for the deaf blind to have access to braille and I support
that. All the more reason for them to be able to use the BrailleNote with
bar code scanning software thus avoiding having to braille label everything
in their house so they can open the right cans or boxes of food.

One of the beauties of using the BrailleNote is that it.
1. gives access to the deaf blind who in many cases have no other way of
getting the same info and can't use an id mate.
2. allows the user if the have it to use Braille.

Hi,
With the I D mate you can also record a message about the product you
are scanning. You could probably also record a message to go along with
the identified product on your BrailleNote. Just a thought!

I tend to agree with Andrew Riden that relying upon a bar code
database for dosing instructions on over-the-counter medicines could
be risky, but say if you scan the bottle and it contains Aspirin then
most people know the adult dosage is 1 to three tablets at a time with
a daily maximum of something like eight.
Of course it could be a medicine you are not familiar with.
