The off-topicness, if you'll excuse me making up a word, came when the ID mate and other products became a major part of this discussion. The thread jumped pretty quickly from a possible BrailleNote add-on to the hardware and software that actually exists, and I'm sure that this is what Rhonda was referring to. I have noticed people trying to keep on topic by discussing a barcode scanner that would work with the BN, and the software application to go with it, but I suspect the discussion of the databases that are currently available from Envision America and other products would be considered off-topic.
