I think the user guide says a BrailleNote will hold its charge for two or three weeks if not used, so you might want to charge it up and unplug it just before you leave on your trip. You may wish to remove any cards, SD or CF or PC/MCIA you have plugged into your BrailleNote to help reduce battery drain.
