Jim, The file you load for the upgrade to 7.01 or whatever is nk.bin which is the same name used for the keysoft 7 upgrade file. So, you would replace the new nk.bin on your sd card over the old one. When you do the 4 5 (j k ) reset, the system looks for a file called nk.bin in the root folder of the sd card.
You should not need to reformat the card. If you have your product key on the card, for example, the upgrade will just ignore that and go for the nk.bin file.
